Jakarta, 23 December 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has signed the Women Entrepreneurs (WE) Finance Code Indonesia, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the growth and empowerment of women entrepreneurs in Indonesia. This initiative is a key component of BCA's broader strategy to promote financial inclusion, ensuring equal access to financial resources for all segments of society.
The signing ceremony of the WE Finance Code Indonesia was led by BCA Director John Kosasih, accompanied by representatives from Financial Services Institutions, Financial Services Institutions Associations, and the Women Entrepreneurs Association. The event took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta on Tuesday (17/12). The signing was witnessed by representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Services Authority, Bank Indonesia, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
The WE Finance Code is an initiative aimed at fostering collaboration among c financial service providers, regulators, governments, and various stakeholders to improve access to finance for women entrepreneurs and MSMEs. This commitment was first introduced during the IMF Annual Meeting in 2023 in Marrakech, Morocco. Indonesia is the second of 26 pilot countries to implement the WE Finance Code commitment.

The principles of the WE Finance Code are fully aligned with BCA's commitment to enhancing women's access to banking products and financing. This commitment is reflected in the significant growth of lending to women entrepreneurs. , As of September 2024, total outstanding loans disbursed to women entrepreneurs reached Rp17 trillion, an 18% year-on-year increase. . The number of women debtors also increased to 48,000, reflecting an 11.8% YoY growth, representing 37% of BCA's total individual debtors.
Additionally, for the past three years, BCA has consistently introduced the Kartini Multipurpose Business Credit (KMU) program, specifically designed for women entrepreneurs or businesses with a majority of female employees. This program is launched annually to commemorate Kartini Day. KMU Kartini offers special interest rates starting at 3.21% per annum, making it easier for women entrepreneurs to access working capital and meet other business needs.
BCA also offers various programs for entrepreneurs and MSMEs, including women entrepreneurs, such as Bangga Lokal, BCA UMKM Fest, natural color wastra coaching, market access expansion for nearly 100 women weavers, BCA UMKM Go Export, and free halal certification workshops.
