Tangerang, 18 November 2017 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) together with Bank BRI, Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, Bank BRI Syariah, Bank Mandiri Syariah and Bank Sinarmas proved their commitment to support the empowerment program of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, Tbk (Alfamart) foster retail businesses. The agreement is a form of BCA’s concern as well as partiality of modern retail and the banks in empowering warung businesses.
One of which is manifested in delivering capital assistance to Alfamart foster warungs at Alfamart Headquarter, Tangerang. Executive Vice President of BCA Liston Nainggolan symbolically submitted capital assistance, witnessed by Indonesia’s Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita in Tangerang, Saturday (17/11).
Trade Minister Enggar explained that modern retail businesses and the banks should work by side to help support the growth and development of warungs as part of a Government policy to develop retail sector, both modern and traditional (warungs). Enggar said, based on Nielsen Indonesia data, in 2014, there are more than 3 million warungs that should receive serious attention from all stakeholders.
In similar tone, Liston said, “As a bank with a vision to be the leading bank of choice, with a role as an important pillar in Indonesia’s economy, BCA never stops offering a variety of banking solutions that cater to financial needs of its customers who come from all economy class. Therefore, BCA fully supports the partnership between traditional and modern retail businesses, which was initiated by the Association of Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs (APRINDO). After providing support to Indogrosir foster retail businesses, today BCA will submit a symbolic People’s Business Credit (KUR) donation worth of Rp25 million to 2 (two) Alfamart foster warung debitors. We hope for the best use of funds to increase business capacity of traders,” explained Liston.
Welcoming the partnership, Roy Mandey, Chairman of the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (APRINDO), admitted to supporting the partnership program between modern retail, the banks and traditional warungs yang dicanangkan Kementerian Perdagangan RI.
This time, as the manager of more than 13,000 Alfamart stores, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk ready to run partnership with traditional retails, and will also develop them by revitalizing traditional retail businesses (warungs) in various regions in Indonesia.
"With the support from various parties, there will be more traditional retails that we can embrace through the partnership program. And moreover, we hope this program will not only be big but also sustainable," said Roy Mandey.
