BCA Officially Implements BI Fast to Support National Payment Acceleration

Jakarta, December 24, 2021 – As part of the national banking system, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) participated in supporting implementation of BI Fast in the first phase. Today, Friday (24/12), BCA has added an interbank transfer service, BI FAST, on the website version of myBCA channel [https://mybca.bca.co.id/]. In the future, BI Fast service will also immediately be implemented in myBCA app for IOS & Android users. Through the service, customers can easily do online interbank transfers which are available 24/7. It will also be developed on other BCA gradually.

As known, Bank Indonesia officially launched BI Fast, which is a national retail payment system infrastructure that can facilitate real-time, safe, efficient retail payments on Tuesday (21/12). The launch of BI Fast is also a strategic step for Bank Indonesia in creating a modern national payment system as part of the implementation of the 2025 Indonesia payment system blueprint. In the first phase, Bank Indonesia has synergized with 22 banks, one of which is BCA.

Through BI Fast service, now customers can do interbank transfer transactions at a much more affordable rate than LLG transfer, which is 2,500 IDR per transaction.

“BI Fast is an adequate innovation in encouraging the modernization of Bank Indonesia's National Clearing System (SKNBI) and retail payment system infrastructure. BCA certainly welcomes the enthusiasm of BI-FAST modern infrastructure organized by Bank Indonesia, which continuously strengthens innovation, efficiency and resilience of the National Payment System infrastructure in line with other developed countries. We believe that this innovation is relevant and can accommodate the needs of the community, especially banking customers," said BCA President Director, Jahja Setiaatmadja.

For information, transactions on BCA digital channels during the pandemic rapidly increased. BCA internet banking transactions grew by 29% YoY to 1.09 billion transactions in the third quarter of 2021, while BCA mobile banking transactions rocketed 55% YoY to 2.64 billion in the third quarter of 2021. Thus, the portion of digital banking transactions, which include BCA mobile and internet banking, was 88% per third quarter of 2021. On the other hand, the portion of transactions at branch offices was recorded at 0.5%.

The BI Fast system now can be used by customers on the website version of the myBCA channel [https://mybca.bca.co.id/]. The myBCA is a digital platform from BCA where customers only need a single user ID to access all account information they have at BCA using their BCA ID.
