Malang, 18 March 2017 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to support the development and improvement of human resource quality in Indonesia. After previously presenting a Bakti BCA Scholarship worth Rp 350 million to Brawijaya University, this time, BCA holds a leadership training for the recipients of Bakti BCA Scholarship at that university.
Attending the opening, Head of BCA Main Branch Office (KCu) Borobudur Liciana King and Vice Rector III of Student Affais Brawijaya University Arief Prajitno at Kampoeng Kid Transformer Center Batu, Malang, Saturday, (18/03). The training which was held on 18 to 19 March 2017 was aimed at preparing select accomplished students from Brawijaya University to enter the increasingly competitive working world.
“In the celebration of BCA’S 60th Anniversary, BCA is committed to Become Better through its three pillars of Learn Better, Give Better and Serve Better. This training is one of the forms of BCA’s commitment to Give Better to Indonesia young generation, which aims at helping students know themselves and their potential so they can manage themselves to achieve the highest goals. We hope this leadership training helps students to foster positive character traits in their career,” explained Liciana King.
According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) 2016, the unemployment rate (TPT) in Indonesia in August 2016 reached 7.03 million people or equivalent to 5.61% of 125.44 million of the nation’s labor force. The unemployment rate of 5.6% means that from 100 labor force, there are approximately 5 or 6 unemployed persons. Therefore, BCA intends to hone the leadership skills of Brawijaya University students who are expected to contribute to reducing unemployment in Indonesia.
“By participating in the training, students from Brawijaya University will be provided with a number of activities to train their ethics, motivation, creativity and innovation. In addition to that, they will also be introduced to a wide range of professions, leadership skills, as well as tips for adapting to a new workplace,” Liciana added.
To equip these students, BCA is presenting MIC Transforming Center as facilitator of the leadership training. The day before the training was held, the students also had attended a mentoring program which served as a tool of self-development through a sharing session from the BCA management as well as a means of interaction among the scholarship recipients.
“We have a big hope that this leadership training would give an added value to students from Brawijaya University, especially for Bakti BCA scholarship recipients, so they can compete in the working world whether as professionals or competent entrepreneurs who also provide jobs in Indonesia,” Liciana King concluded.
