Malang, 10 May 2021 – The earthquake that rattled Malang, East Java on Saturday (10/04), damaged some areas and buildings, including houses, schools, and places of worships. Having concerns about this, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through the Corporate Social Responsibility program, Bakti BCA, is prompted to distribute humanitarian aid for the affected communities in Malang.
The donation was delivered through two separate channels. First through the Malang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and Sub-District Relief Centers of Pamotan-Dampit Village. The donation to the Malang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency was conducted at BCA KCU Malang, submitted by the Head of Malang Regional Office VII Weminto Suryadi and Head of KCU Malang Chen Lin Andrew to the representative of the Malang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (05/05). As the other aid package goes directly to the Earthquake Relief Center of Pamotan Village, submitted by the Head of BCA KCP Dampit Henny Agustina.
“The entire family of BCA is deeply concern and extends its deepest condolences to those affected by the earthquake not long ago, followed by several aftershocks. As fellow countrymen, it is our duty to help each other. And as the bank of the people, BCA is aware of its collective responsibility to help those affected,” said Weminto Suryadi, Kakanwil VII Malang.
The Bakti BCA provides humanitarian aid for the affected communities in the form of 2,75 tons of rice, distributed to several regions affected by the earthquake. Furthermore, to help the recovery of damaged buildings, BCA also donated 150 tarps, which can be used to build temporary shelters.
“The aid provided by the Bakti BCA is expected to ease the burden of the earthquake-affected communities. Together we pray for better things in the future. Hopefully, they can recover soon and resume normal activities,” Weminto concluded.
