Over 324,000 BCA Partner Merchants Now Accept QRIS TAP, Check Out How to Use It Here!

Jakarta, 26 March 2025 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) supports the implementation of QRIS Tanpa Pindai (QRIS TAP), an innovation initiated by Bank Indonesia (BI) based on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. QRIS TAP is now available for customers using the myBCA application version 2.2.0 or later through the ‘NFC Pay’ menu and is accessible to Android users with NFC capabilities.

QRIS TAP allows customers to make transactions by tapping their smartphones on a payment terminal that supports this feature. Customers no longer need to manually scan a QR code to complete transactions. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to accelerate the digitalization of transactions and enhance the efficiency of cashless payments for both customers and merchants.

BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja stated, “QRIS TAP is more than just an innovation—it marks a major leap forward in the digitalization of Indonesia’s payment system. This system enables faster, more efficient, and secure transactions. We believe QRIS TAP will strengthen the adoption of cashless transactions and provide widespread benefits for the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy.”

As an NFC-based payment method, QRIS TAP offers several benefits for customers and merchants, such as:

  • Faster and more convenient transactions without the need to manually scan QR codes.
  • Support for MSMEs in accepting digital payments more easily and efficiently.

Since its official launch on March 14, transactions using QRIS TAP have been enabled at more than 324 thousand merchants equipped with BCA touchscreen EDC devices. These hundreds of thousands of merchants operate across various sectors, including MSME retail, restaurants, and shopping centers.

For merchants, here’s how to process transactions using QRIS TAP:

  1. Select the ‘Card’ menu on the touchscreen EDC machine.
  2. Enter the payment amount.
  3. Bring the device with NFC capability close to or tap it on the EDC.

For customers, the steps to follow are opening the myBCA application, selecting the “NFC Pay” menu, and bringing their smartphone close to or tapping it on the payment terminal.
