BCA Accompanies Taro Village Artisan to Expand Market Access Through TULOLA's Latest Art Wear Collection

Jakarta, 29 November 2024 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BCA) has collaborated again with local jewelry brand TULOLA to launch their latest art wear collection, “Garden of Wishes”, at The Dharmawangsa, Jakarta, on Thursday (28/11). This collaboration showcases TULOLA’s finest jewelry collections from 2024, including The Dancer, which debuted last October. BCA’s involvement in the launch of TULOLA’s latest collection is part of its commitment to supporting the growth of the creative economy, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.

The creative process behind the collaborative jewelry designs between BCA and TULOLA involved I Made Suama, a silver artisan from Taro Tourism Village, Bali. Taro Tourism Village is part of BCA’s Desa Bakti program. I Made Suama contributed to the creation of three new TULOLA jewelry pieces: a fan brooch, a carved brooch, and floral-patterned earrings (subeng). These silver pieces, plated with gold, feature unique touches that reflect the rich cultural heritage of Taro Village.

“BCA consistently supports local talents and is proud to be part of the creative journey with TULOLA. We are honored to collaborate in presenting this latest collection that combines art, culture, and local beauty. What makes this partnership even more special is our involvement in supporting a silver artisan from Taro Tourism Village to contribute to this collection. We believe this collaboration not only strengthens Indonesia's cultural values but also provides an opportunity for local artisans to showcase their potential on a larger stage,” said BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn.

Taro Tourism Village has a variety of cultures with natural beauty and serves as a hub for silver handicrafts. Its cultural wealth and pristine environment often inspire artists, including I Made Suama.

The Fan Brooch by I Made Suama draws inspiration from the Nar-Nir dance, which depicts the social interactions of youth, where dancers carry fans. The dance’s essence is intertwined with Bali’s traditional carvings often seen in Taro Village’s temples. Another piece, the Carved Brooch, represents the diversity of Taro’s plant life, particularly its vines. Lastly, the Floral Earrings are inspired by the village’s beautiful flowers, frequently used as part of dancers’ costumes.

“Involving Taro Village in this collaboration aligns with BCA’s commitment to empowering local communities sustainably. By supporting artisans like I Made Suama, we aim to create a multiplier effect encompassing the growth of the creative economy, cultural preservation, and the improvement of local community welfare. We hope this successful collaboration will inspire other villages to continue developing their artistic and cultural potential, reinforcing Indonesia’s position as a creative economy hub rooted in cultural heritage,” added Hera.

BCA continues to support the growth of MSMEs and entrepreneurs within its Desa Bakti program. This support was evident at the 2024 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), where 32 BCA-assisted merchants were featured. At the event, BCA connected dozens of MSMEs with over 160 potential international buyers.

In addition, BCA has facilitated the issuance of halal certificates targeting 2,000 MSMEs in 2024. BCA also introduced five assisted villages at the Bali Beyond Travel Fair and Wonderful Indonesia Travel Fair 2024, showcasing their tourism and local wealth.

On the “Garden of Wishes” launch, BCA and TULOLA customers enjoyed various transaction conveniences and attractive promotions, including:

  • A 5% discount on new products and a 15% discount on other products for offline purchases during the “Garden of Wishes” launch event in Jakarta (November 28-29).
  • An additional 5% discount for TULOLA purchases using BCA credit and debit cards.
  • 0% installment plans for purchases made with BCA credit cards.

Taro Village has been recognized as one of the World’s Best Tourism Villages, with the tagline “An Eco-Spiritual Destination.” This village harmoniously blends nature, culture, and spirituality, offering breathtaking views of Semara Ratih Delodsema Village, traditional house layouts, the grandeur of Pura Agung Gunung Raung, and the white ox conservation house. Taro Tourism Village also received the Best Tourism Villages Upgrade Program award from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 2023.
