Nusantara, 25 November 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) officially wrapped up the Gelar Karya Sekolah Bakti BCA, a program showcasing the project-based learning outcomes of students from four schools at the elementary and high school levels in Penajam Paser Utara, Soe City, Sorong City, and Bengkulu City. This initiative, held at Bakti BCA-assisted schools (Sekolah Bakti BCA), highlights the bank’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of education across Indonesia.
The latest Gelar Karya Sekolah Bakti BCA event of 2024 was held by BCA at SMAN 3 Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, on Saturday (23/11). Held in the Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) area, the event showcased the students’ works and the achievements of various programs initiated in collaboration between the school and BCA since July.
BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn stated, “BCA is dedicated to addressing various challenges in Indonesia’s education sector, with one key initiative being the Gelar Karya Sekolah Bakti BCA program. This program aims to improve the quality of learning and build the capacity of both educators and students through a holistic approach, which includes strengthening character development, as well as improving scientific knowledge and digital literacy. We hope the training provided will empower educators to create more innovative and inspiring learning environments, in order to build a better future for Indonesia.”
One of the activities held during the Gelar Karya Sekolah Bakti BCA was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between BCA and the local Education Office. This agreement aims to support the continuity of the Sekolah Bakti BCA program, serving as a concrete manifestation of BCA’s commitment to improving the quality of education, particularly in remote areas.
The Gelar Karya Sekolah Bakti BCA showcased project-based learning outcomes focused on science and digital fields. Students were encouraged to explore local issues and formulate alternative solutions through process and product innovation. The Kebun Gizi Nabati (Vegetable Nutrition Garden) is also featured at the Sekolah Bakti BCA as a learning tool aimed at improving science education.
The event at IKN marks the conclusion of the Gelar Karya Sekolah Bakti BCA series throughout 2024. Prior to this, the event was held in the following locations:
- SD Inpres Nunumeu, Soe City, East Nusa Tenggara on November 6, 2024
- Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) 35 Kota Sorong, West Papua on November 9, 2024
- Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) 61 Kota Bengkulu pada on November 19, 2024
By 2023, BCA has supported 20 Sekolah Bakti BCA across elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels, while also providing training for over 275 school principals to foster innovative leadership skills and enhance their capacity. In addition, BCA has organized Learning Innovation training for 65 teachers and 15 school management staff to enhance their ability to create a more interactive and creative learning environment. Looking ahead, in mid-2024, BCA will inaugurate 4 new Sekolah Bakti BCA.
