Jakarta, 19 July 2024 – The partnership between PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) and the Puteri Indonesia Foundation (YPI) at the Puteri Indonesia 2024 event has achieved a historic milestone on the international stage. This success was realized when Harastha Haifa Zahra, the winner of Puteri Indonesia 2024, became the first Indonesian representative to be crowned Miss Supranational 2024. In recognition of Harastha’s efforts and triumph at Miss Supranational 2024, BCA and YPI organized a special event to welcome her back to Indonesia on Thursday (18/7).
At the event titled “Press Conference and Dinner on the Triumph of Puteri Indonesia 2024” held at Hutan Kota by Plataran, numerous stakeholders gathered to honor Harastha Haifa Zahra. Attendees included Deputy Governor of East Java for the 2019-2024 period Emil Dardak, Director of PT Mustika Ratu Tbk Kusuma Ida Anjani, and President of the Miss Supranational Organization Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski. Also present were BCA EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn, Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation Putri Kus Wisnu Wardhani, and Co-Founder of Plataran Indonesia Dewi Makes.
BCA EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. During the Puteri Indonesia 2024 event, BCA facilitated the skill-building of the 42 finalists by offering training sessions on financial literacy, the national economy, and banking, delivered by BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja. Additionally, the finalists were given the opportunity to tour BCA branch offices to observe banking operations firsthand, from transactions to customer service. BCA also frequently collaborates with the winner of Puteri Indonesia 2023 to promote various Bakti BCA programs, including Bakti BCA-assisted tourism villages, BCA-supported MSMEs, and environmental conservation initiatives.
Puteri Indonesia 2024 and Miss Supranational 2024Harastha Haifa Zahra expressed, “Thank you to everyone who supported my journey to Miss Supranational 2024. Miss Supranational is an international beauty pageant organized by the World Beauty Association S.A. Established in 2009, the competition has primarily been held in Poland. After sending representatives for the past decade, this year's Puteri Indonesia winner has secured the Miss Supranational title. In addition, Harastha also won Supra Talent 2024. Her performance, which showcased Indonesian arts and culture, received high praise from both the judges and the audience.
Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation Putri Kus Wisnu Wardhani added, “This achievement is a tremendous source of pride not only for the Puteri Indonesia Foundation but also for the entire nation. Winning against representatives from 67 other countries was an incredible accomplishment. The candidates were all exceptional, with only slight differences among them. This success demonstrates that young Indonesian women can compete on the global stage and confidently showcase their strengths.”
Beyond its support for Puteri Indonesia 2024, BCA is committed to advancing women’s empowerment across multiple sectors. The Bank fosters an inclusive work environment, with women comprising 60.8% of its total workforce and 61.1% of its management team as of 2023. BCA also supports Indonesian women by financing MSMEs led by female entrepreneurs, with a total of Rp14.8 trillion—up 20.2% year-over-year—benefiting 44,465 debtors by 2023. Additionally, in partnership with Indonesia Natural Dyes Association (Warlami), BCA has assisted 28 women weavers in TTS to develop environmentally friendly fashion.
