Depok, 23 April 2017 - Committed to instill interest in reading all across Indonesia, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) introduces and encourages the public to participate in the “Books for Indonesia” movement at the Literacy Talk initiated by Taman Baca Inovator (TBI), Sunday, (24/3) in Depok.
Vice President Marketing Communication of BCA Norisa Saifuddin attended the discussion to share information about the “Books for Indonesia” movement. Various activities were conducted to help increase the literacy in Indonesia, including the keREADta movement themed “when trains are a fun place to read!” This program is a reflection of BCA’s real action to continue helping instill love of reading. In addition to that, a literacy talk was also held at University of Indonesia (UI) which had involved speaker Butet Manurung, Chiki Fauzi as well as book writers who are part of the literary movement.
Books are windows to the world and reading books is a way to open the window to know more about the world we do not know before. “This is what underlies the Books for Indonesia movement initiated by BCA. We understand that to improve reading habit in Indonesia, it is necessary to first instill perception, interest and awareness of the benefits of reading books as window to the world and life inspiration among the younger generation,” said Norisa.
Through this movement, BCA is inviting all sectors of Indonesian society to take part so that children can gain access to books to supplement their education. The public can directly access www.bukuuntukindonesia.com to join this movement, and facilitated by Blibli.com, the public can choose the type of donation package on the website. The donation will be converted into books and distributed to various areas in Indonesia. As a form of appreciation, BCA is giving a T-shirt of kindness for those who take part in this movement.
“Books are a source of knowledge and inspiration. By sharing books, we are opening up more opportunities for Indonesian children to have better knowledge. With BCA, let’s create a better change by taking part in #BukuUntukIndonesia movement,” Norisa concluded.
