Samarinda, 18 September 2019 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues giving its support towards the development of education and improved quality of human resources in Indonesia. This year, BCA gives scholarships to 18 state universities in Indonesia with a total value of Rp5.35 billion. Mulawarman University is one of the universities receiving the Bakti BCA Scholarship.
Head of BCA’s Main Branch Office (KCU) Samarinda Hardjosugito Jusuf symbolically handed over a Rp250 million Bakti BCA scholarship fund to a student representative of Mulawarman University witnessed by Deputy Rector III of Student and Alumni Affairs of Mulawarman University Encik Akhmad Syaifudin in Samarinda, Wednesday (18/09). This time, BCA distributed a scholarship worth Rp250 million to select accomplished students of Mulawarman University.
Hardjo said, building quality Human Resources (HR) is one of BCA’s major concerns as an institution close to the people. Therefore, BCA consistently provides scholarships to accomplished students to help motivate them to make achievements and realize their dreams.
The Bakti BCA Scholarships program comes as a form of commitment of BCA to support the development of education and improved human resource in Indonesia. The Bakti BCA Scholarship program itself was developed since 1999 and is intended for accomplished undergraduate students (bachelor degree) who have a demonstrated financial need.
The Bakti BCA Scholarships has entered its 20 years and continue to evaluate the funds it has channeled throughout the years as well as the number of grantees. As of 2019, BCA added the number of state universities receiving its scholarships from 16 to 18 state universities. Meanwhile, the amount of funds allocated also increases yearly. Below is the detail of the allocation of the Bakti BCA Scholarships funds

In 2019, BCA provides a scholarship funds totaling Rp5.35 billion for 703 students from 18 state universities. Not only the material support that the Bank BCA provided, students are also equipped with a set of soft skills that are needed in pursuing higher education and as a preparation to enter workforce.
BCA’s care on education doesn’t simply stop at providing scholarships, but it is also committed to provide, add, and enhance soft skills of students through seminars, training and mentoring programs in order to prepare the Bakti BCA grantees to enter the workforce after they graduate. We do this because we understand the importance of youth assistance who will compete in the workforce
Hardjo added, Indonesian youth needs to continuously improve their performance to prepare themselves for global competitions. BCA’s scholarship program is expected to equip the students with optimal self-development. “We hope that the Bakti BCA Scholarships can improve the quality of human resource in Indonesia, who are ready to enter the workforce in the future,” Hardjo concluded his remarks.
