Yogyakarta, 18 December 2024 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to support financial inclusion acceleration, including in the education sector. One of the initiatives is demonstrated through BCA’s collaboration with universities across Indonesia. This time, BCA is partnering with Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW) to provide a facility for paying tuition fees using the BCA Virtual Account Online through an Application Programming Interface (API) that adheres to the National Open API Payment Standard (SNAP), serving as a tool for processing tuition payments.
The collaboration between BCA and UKDW was marked by a Momerandum of Understanding (MoU) signing by representatives of both parties on Wednesday (18/12). The event was attended by BCA Director John Kosasih, UKDW Vice Rector for Finance and Asset Development Ambar Kusuma Astuti, SE, M.Si, UKDW Head of Administration and Finance Bureau (Bureau 2) Lussy Ernawati, S.Kom, M.Acc, YPTK Duta Wacana Board Member Ir. Mariam Handayani, BCA Cash Management VP Lenny Kartikasari, and other members of BCA and UKDW management.
BCA Director John Kosasih stated, “We are honored and proud to contribute to building an inclusive digital payment ecosystem at UKDW. The cooperation between BCA and UKDW has been solidly established through various forms of support provided by both institutions. We hope the BCA Virtual Account Online facility will simplify tuition fee payments for parents, prospective students, and other related parties.”
The UKDW tuition fee payment system via BCA Virtual Account Online has been available since October 18, 2024. This service is also integrated with other financial solutions from BCA through the BCA API, enabling UKDW to monitor, manage, and report funds comprehensively.
UKDW Vice Rector for Finance and Asset Development Ambar Kusuma Astuti, SE, M.Si welcomed the partnership and expressed her appreciation for BCA’s contribution in providing easy and secure payment facilities for education. “This facility offers convenience for parents and students in making payments for various needs at UKDW. We hope this cooperation marks the beginning of a strong partnership between UKDW and BCA, fostering further collaboration for the advancement of the education sector and the improvement of financial inclusion in Indonesia,” said Ambar.
BCA has been the first bank in Indonesia to offer API services since 2017. In developing the BCA API, the bank collaborates with trusted third parties to ensure that BCA’s products and services are accessible across diverse ecosystems. The BCA API connection is fully compliant with the SNAP standards established by Bank Indonesia.
BCA actively contributes to advancing education in Indonesia through various initiatives under the Bakti BCA program. Through its Bakti Pendidikan pillar, BCA implements several programs in the education sector, including:
