Jakarta, 2 February 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) upholds its commitment to support MSME players by providing wider market access through Pojok UMKM BCA. The inauguration of the first Pojok UMKM BCA nationally was held on 30 January 2024 at BCA Padang Main Branch Office and was opened by the Head of BCA Main Branch Office in Padang Robert Siahaan and the Head of SME Cooperative Office of West Sumatra Province Endrizal.
The first Pojok UMKM BCA is located in the Banking Hall of the Padang Main Branch Office. This location serves as a forum to facilitate MSME players in marketing their products to customers. The introduction of Pojok UMKM BCA is expected to increase MSME revenue and open up wider market access.
Head of BCA Main Branch Office in Padang Robert Siahaan explained, “Pojok UMKM BCA serves as a dedicated platform designed to empower MSMEs by enhancing their sales, improving business visibility, and fostering opportunities for networking and collaboration among businesses. We hope that Pojok UMKM can become a part of the ecosystem that fosters the growth and advancement of MSMEs and serves as a foundation for them to expand their business.”
MSMEs whose products are featured in Pojok UMKM BCA have undergone product packaging training organized by BCA in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade’s Indonesian Design Development Center (IDDC). This training program is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively package their products in a way that is both visually appealing and functional, thereby enhancing the market value of their products and enabling them to meet export standards.
Pojok UMKM BCA offers a range of products encompassing food, beverages, and handicrafts. To ensure diversity and uphold product quality, the items available at Pojok UMKM BCA will undergo periodic rotations, where offerings from various MSMEs will be curated and introduced into the selection.
As information, Pojok UMKM BCA at Padang Main Branch Office is an initiative following the MSMEs Halal Certification in West Sumatra on 12 December 2023, involving over 400 MSMEs. Pojok UMKM BCA serves as BCA’s pilot project aimed at creating an ecosystem to facilitate broader market access for MSMEs, thereby fostering their business expansion.
BCA continues to provide actual support for the growth of small and medium enterprises in Indonesia. BCA has implemented various initiatives to support MSME development, including facilitating the issuance of 967 halal certificates in various regions, export training attended by 60 MSMEs in Yogyakarta and Semarang, and facilitating 10 selected MSMEs to participate in the Trade Expo Indonesia organized by the Ministry of Trade in 2023. Throughout 2023, BCA recorded a 13.4% YoY increase in SME loans, reaching Rp116.0 trillion.
