Banyuwangi, 13 March 2023 - As part of its commitment to improve the quality of teachers in Indonesia, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has implemented the “Guru JUARA - Learning Innovation Program” training, a program that offers intensive training to teachers and school management in 5 schools in Banyuwangi, consisting of 2 elementary schools, 2 junior high schools, and 1 high school. Attended by 80 participants from the management team and teachers, this program will provide intensive training to teachers and School management in order to improve the pedagogical skills of teachers so as to produce quality learning in the classroom that is more meaningful to students.
The opening of the JUARA Teacher Training program's learning innovation was held at the Banyuwangi Regency Education Office, attended by the Head of CSR Solutions Bureau, Krisbiakto Cahyo Adi; Banyuwangi Regent, Ipuk Fiestiandani Azwar Anas, S.Pd.; Head of Vocational School Education Department, Dr. Kurniawan Hary Putranto, and Head of Banyuwangi Regency Education Office, Suratno S. Pd, M.M.
Krisbiakto, the Vice President of CSR at BCA, said, “JUARA Teacher Learning Innovation program - Learning Innovation is a follow-up to BCA's commitment to improving the quality and pedagogical abilities of teachers in Binaan BCA schools in Banyuwangi. The program focuses on aligning the learning system with the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum and improving students' literacy and numeracy skills. The program began with a baseline assessment process and will be conducted throughout March to November 2023.”
Through the JUARA Teacher Training learning innovation program, BCA aims to provide guidance to teachers and school management teams with three main focuses. The first focus is to improve teachers' knowledge and skills in creating effective, innovative, and enjoyable learning experiences. The second is to enhance their ability to design and implement teaching aids. The third is to improve their ability to formulate and implement learning implementation standards and conduct quality monitoring of learning systems.
Ipuk, the Banyuwangi Regent, expressed her appreciation to BCA, saying, “We are delighted with BCA's outstanding contribution to improving education in Banyuwangi. We hope that this innovative program can enhance the teaching skills and produce a higher quality learning system, which will have a positive impact on the students' academic performance in Banyuwangi.”
