BCA Vice President of CSR Krisbiakto Cahyo Adi explained, “BCA is committed to empowering the younger generation by enhancing their abilities, with a particular focus on improving their literacy skills. Recognizing the crucial role that literacy and literature play in the lives of students and young individuals, BCA organized Semarak Literasi as a dedicated effort to promote high-quality education and elevate the literacy skills of Indonesian students. This initiative is scheduled during Language Month, signifying a significant step toward achieving our mission.”
During the three-days event, BCA will organize various competitions designed to encourage students to improve their literacy skills. These competitions will include short story writing, storytelling, poetry dramatization, science olympiad, solo singing, and more.
“We are immensely proud to host Semarak Literasi in collaboration with BCA. This event provides students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of literature, and we are confident that it will enhance the literacy skills of SMPN 1 Gadingrejo students. Our hope is that BCA’s Semarak Literasi can become an annual tradition eagerly anticipated by our students,” stated SMPN 1 Gadingrejo Principal Heru Siswanto S.Pd, M.Pd.
Before this event, the Semarak Literasi series, initiated by Bakti BCA, was inaugurated at SMAN 1 Karangmojo in Gunungkidul Regency. The launch featured Literacy Workshops for students and teachers, followed by Literary Competitions, and concluded with a Literary Festival. In alignment with the inspiring spirit of #CanDoGeneration, Semarak Literasi is planning to expand to various locations, such as DKI Jakarta, Serang, Yogya, and Jayapura, with the aim of involving 2,000 participants.
“We are thankful for the support of BCA and Semarak Literasi in Lampung. We hope that the programs and competitions, which the students have been enjoying, will positively influence their interest in reading and learning,” expressed Head of Pringsewu Educational Office Budi Heryanto.
Semarak Literasi, as it is implemented across various regions of Indonesia, serves a dual purpose. It not only strives to promote high-quality education but also functions as a bridge that connects all stakeholders. Together, they work towards enhancing the passion and nurturing the interests of the younger generation in creating their own literary works. This initiative reflects BCA’s commitment to constructing a more robust education ecosystem, while at the same time offering hope and opportunities for the younger generation to unleash their full potential.
“To maximize impact and ensure continuity, we collaborate with various stakeholders, including the government, educational institutions, and literacy activists in each region. Our goal is for BCA to contribute to the advancement of learning and literacy in Indonesia through this program,” Krisbiakto concluded.
