Jakarta, 14 September 2023 - Several high-end motorcycles grabbed the crowd's attention during BCA Expo 2023 at ICE BSD, Tangerang. The event held from 8 to 10 September 2023, showcased luxurious and sophisticated motorcycles, with some priced as high as a house. Worry no more! Around 29 motorcycle brands participated in this year's BCA Expo. Some of them showcased the most advanced technologies, including those found in electric vehicles. Other brands equipped their motorcycles with intriguing features, designs, and innovations, resulting in the crafting of beast motorcycles with sultan-like price tags. Here is a list of the champion motorcycles that stole the spotlight at the event:
1. Harley Davidson Touring Ultra Limited
The renowned big motorcycle manufacturer, Harley Davidson, brought one of its flagship models, the Harley Davidson Touring Ultra Limited, to BCA Expo 2023. This big motorcycle successfully captured the attention of visitors with its impressive and luxurious appearance, in line with its high-end reputation. The 2023 model comes equipped with a fierce Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine with a capacity of 1,868cc, as well as a masculine design tailored for comfortable long-distance rides. "Just" dig into your wallet and you can bring the Harley Davidson Touring Ultra Limited home for around Rp1.4 billion.
2. BMW R18 Transcontinental
The German manufacturer, BMW, also showcased its flagship lineup at BCA Expo 2023, including the BMW R18 Transcontinental. Unlike the standard R18 version, this big motorcycle is designed with features and accessories that are well-equipped for supporting long-distance journeys, including a notably larger and comprehensive front fairing. For its engine, this motorcycle is powered by a 1,802 cc twin-boxer engine with a maximum output of 91 horsepower (hp). The BMW R18 Transcontinental is also equipped with BMW Motorrad Integral ABS to enhance driving safety. For those interested, the BMW R18 Transcontinental can be purchased for approximately Rp1.2 billion.
3. Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini
No one would doubt Ducati's reputation as a manufacturer of formidable motorcycles. The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini is one that automotive enthusiasts around the world have eagerly awaited. Built on the existing Ducati Panigale V4, Ducati collaborated with the renowned automaker Lamborghini to incorporate the design concept of the Huracan STO into this beast motorcycle. Lamborghini's Streetfighter V4 has only 630 units produced worldwide, with 63 of them reserved exclusively for Lamborghini owners. The price for this beast motorcycle is IDR2,5 billion.
4. Vespa Sprint x Justin Bieber
Vespa, known as the icon of retro bikes, introduced a special unit at BCA Expo 2023, the limited edition Vespa Sprint x Justin Bieber. This special Vespa, based on the Sprint 150, sparks the automotive industry with a fresh and charming look. For those who want to take home this 2022 motorcycle, you can redeem it for IDR 106 million, complete with various accessories.
Despite the fact that these luxury motorcycles are priced similarly to a house, they still managed to attract buyers among the attendees at BCA Expo 2023. What's even more astonishing is that the two most expensive motorcycles, Harley Davidson Touring Ultra Limited and Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, were the first to be sold. Despite their billion-dollar price tags, it appears that some BCA Expo 2023 visitors were more than willing to make a substantial investment to include these two luxurious motorcycles in their collections.
