Jakarta, May 31, 2023 - The Museum of World Records-Indonesia (MURI) has crowned the Forest in Bukit Peramun, Belitung Regency, as the First Community-Based Digital Forest in Indonesia. Bukit Peramun Tourism Village has been one of the Bakti BCA-supported Tourism Villages since 2018. This MURI record marks a significant milestone for Bukit Peramun Tourism Village in its efforts to utilize digital technology by actively involving the community in preserving and conserving the environment, as well as harnessing the potential of village tourism.
The MURI record award was directly presented by the Deputy of Digital Economy and Creative Products of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Neil El Himam, to the representative of Belitung Regency Government, Destika Efenly, at Balairung Soesilo Soedarman, Sapta Pesona Building, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, on Tuesday (May 30).
Destika Efenly expressed gratitude for the solid collaboration among all stakeholders involved in achieving the MURI record, including the Arsel Community, residents of Bukit Peramun Village, officials of Bukit Peramun Village, Belitung Regency Government, Bangka Belitung Provincial Government, and private sector, specifically PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), which has consistently provided support and guidance.
"We would like to express our gratitude to all parties involved, as the Bukit Peramun Forest has been honored as the First Community-Based Digital Forest in Indonesia by MURI. Great appreciation should be directed towards the Arsel Community, the residents of Bukit Peramun in Belitung, and the Belitung Regency Government for their creativity and innovation in developing tourism destinations, as well as to BCA for continuously supporting and actively engaging in community capacity building," said Destika.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Arsel Community, Adie Darmawan, added that they have taken a progressive step in utilizing digital technology as a tool for nature conservation and forest preservation. In addition to innovation, Adie expressed that community involvement is the key to the success of Bukit Peramun Tourism Village. For information, the Arsel Community is a community-based organization that manages the operations of Bukit Peramun Tourism Village.

Haryn, expressed her pride in Bukit Peramun Tourism Village, which is one of the Bakti BCA-supported Tourism Villages, for achieving the MURI record. This appreciation proves the success of the village management in implementing various technological innovations, such as an Android-based virtual assistant application, to introduce the types and benefits of plants in Bukit Peramun, as well as a virtual guide available in two languages (Indonesian and English).
"We are delighted that BCA can contribute to improving the quality of tourism in Bukit Peramun Tourism Village. With this achievement, our ongoing efforts to enhance the tourism appeal and support the local economy as well as SMEs around the tourist destination have yielded sweet results. As additional information, Bukit Peramun in Belitung has long been a popular tourist destination on the island of Belitung, Bangka Belitung. The allure of the hill comes from the abundance of local plants that are often used by the local residents to create herbal medicines. With the richness of flora, the local community, supported by the local government and BCA, continues to develop its tourism potential, including the use of an Android-based virtual assistant application as a virtual guide.
