Hong Kong, 29 June 2017 – Established since 1957, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has existed in Indonesian society and never stops offering the variety of technology innovations that enable customers to perform a practical, safe and convenient banking transaction. The sophisticated banking solution products and services offered by the bank have encouraged customer loyalty that leads to BCA’s success to maintain its solid positive performance amid the highly competitive banking industry. BCA’s achievements as dominant player in the market and Indonesia’s leading bank of choice, has led the bank to win two awards, including Best Bank in Indonesia and Best Asian Bank for the second consecutive year in FinanceAsia’s Country Awards for Achievement 2017 in Hong Kong, Thursday (29/06).
Attending to receive the award, President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja revealed that the benefits of its sophisticated and innovative payment systems are the key to BCA’s success, resulting in a higher profitability and lower funding cost. “Payment settlement is very important for business, like the blood in our body. It flows and it supports all the businesses,” said Jahja.
The Bank BCA has marked its victory for two consecutive years in FinanceAsia’s Country Awards for Achievement 2017 as the best bank in both Indonesia and Asia. Named the Best Asian Bank, BCA stood out from other best banking institutions from 16 other countries, including its net interest margin (NIM) that stood at more than 6%, double the average of all the finalists. BCA’s strategy relies on its simple but effective business model: it takes in as many low-cost deposits as possible and then lends to strategically selected sectors for higher yields. This strategy will allow BCA to grow at a steady rate and pay increasing dividends for the past decade.
Alongside its solid performance, the Bank BCA is also keeping up with technology trends by embracing financial technology to support its businesses. BCA has recently launched Central Capital Ventura, a venture capital fund specifically set up to invest and collaborate with existing fintech companies that are expected to support the financial services ecosystem of BCA and its subsidiaries.
“BCA recognizes the importance of embracing the new players in fintech business line in order to foster up-to-date and cutting-edge digital banking services. We perceive the sophisticated banking services that we offer has encouraged customer loyalty and satisfaction to always return to BCA,” Jahja concluded.
