Jakarta, 15 March 2021 – The consistency of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) in supporting the recovery of the national economy is shown through its support for MSMEs. MSMEs are one of the backbones of the national economy, facing various challenges and various limitations in developing their business capabilities. Thanks to technological advances, BCA uses various tools and methods to streamline company operations in an effort to improve business performance to face a competitive market. What are the tips so that MSME subjects can carry out digital transformation to achieve operational excellence?
Aiming to be the best business partner for MSMEs, BCA collaborates with Binus University and GreatNusa to organize the BCA Cash Management Webinar "Redefining Operations Excellence to Achieve Business Performance." The event featured Henry Koenaifi (Director of BCA) and Minaldi Loeis, M.Sc., M.M., MBA (Certification Specialist, Binus Higher Education) as speakers on Monday (15/03) and moderated by Dr. Anita Maharani S.E., M.M. (Deputy Head of Program – MM Blended Learning BINUS Business School). This activity is also a part of the BCA Cash Management Division educational series, designed for business customers of BCA.
“BCA understands that this pandemic has made many people limit their direct interactions even more. This tendency is reflected in the increase in BCA e-channel transactions compared to transactions through ATMs or BCA branch offices. On the other hand, we also observed an increase in customer transactions on e-commerce platforms. This shows a shift in consumer behavior among the public,” said Henry Koenaifi as Director of BCA.
The pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation and motivated various businesses, including MSMEs, to digitalize their processes. There are many ways businesses can digitalize their processes, for example, by digitizing their internal financial records or their product & services marketing through e-commerce. MSMEs can begin the digitalization process by setting a measurable and adaptable system and paying attention to the marketing patterns of related businesses. An agile mindset also needs to be built by business actors in facing challenges and changes. Furthermore, MSMEs also need the support of good leadership for a harmonized system.

In this webinar, Henry also emphasized that it is important for all MSME sectors to pay attention to various business risks. According to Henry, one of the common risks for MSMEs is a decrease in turnover and also in financial arrangements, so there is a need for adequate financial records. Business actors need to understand the cost of goods sold (COGS) which will have a major impact on costs and business strategies to be carried out and always pay attention to the composition between the Top Line, Middle Line and Bottom Line.
GreatNusa by Bina Nusantara is an online portal that provides informative content that combines practitioners and academics. This platform provides various courses that can be followed by anyone who wants to do self-development. “GreatNusa has collaborated with more than 100 practitioners and academics to present structured and relevant learning for MSMEs with themes related to digital, innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology. Currently, there are more than 1,000 learning videos that can be accessed by MSME actors," said Nita Felia Pambudi as Head of Business Development for GreatNusa.
In an effort to develop MSMEs, BCA has provided a number of virtual assistants such as this webinar. In addition, credit distribution for MSME business actors will also continue to be carried out, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. As additional information, as of December 2020, BCA has disbursed loans to the MSME sector reaching nearly Rp 80 trillion.
“BCA has always been the best partner through various business services for customers. We present various cash management solutions according to customer needs so that business transactions become easier, safer, and more convenient. BCA also collaborates with various strategic partners with various business services for customers in an effort to provide added value to BCA Cash Management services and provide a positive impact for all MSME business actors," concluded Irwan Prabawa as Vice President of BCA Cash Management.
