BCA Invites the Public to Take Virtual Travel to Doesoen Kopi Sirap & Gemah Sumilir Batik Village

Jakarta, 17 December 2020 – Coffee and batik are a few of Indonesia’s high-value export commodities. Looking at these facts, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) conducts training programs for villages that have potential for coffee and batik through the BCA-assisted village program. In order to promote these assisted villages, this time, BCA presents a virtual program Holiday from Home, which calls for the people to enjoy the charm of Doesoen Kopi Sirap and Gemah Sumilir Batik Village.

Looking at the burst of enthusiasm in the previous four episodes, this time, the fifth episode of the Instagram Live Talkshow “Holiday from Home” is featuring Executive Vice President of CSR of BCA Inge Setiawati, Vice President of CSR of BCA Ira Bachtar, and Indonesian Barista Champion Mikael Jasin on Thursday (17/12). This program is broadcasted on Instagram account @goodlifebca and @mikaeljasin, Youtube channel SolusiBCA, Facebook GoodLife BCA and Twitter account @GoodLifeBCA.

“BCA is pleased and proud of the positive response from the public to the ‘Holiday from Home’ program. This makes us even more excited to present other BCA-assisted villages. In this episode, we chose Doesoen Kopi Sirap in Semarang and Gemah Sumilir Batik Village in Pekalongan. These villages have been receiving BCA’s assistance since several years ago and have made achievements in their respective fields. Doesoen Kopi Sirap can produce 1,200 tons of coffee every year,” said Inge Setiawati, Executive Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility of BCA.

Doesoen Kopi Sirap is located on the slope of Mount Kelir, Semarang, Central Java and covers tens of hectares of coffee plantations. Tourists are invited to embark on a trekking trail to the coffee plantation and learn more about coffee. It also offers organic coffee tour with a variety of flavors. Furthermore, visitors will also be captivated by the land’s natural beauty.

As with Doesoen Kopi Sirap that is famous for its coffee, Gemah Sumilir Batik Village, located in Kajeng, Pekalongan, Central Java Tengah, is known for its batik.  The village offers written and stamped batik edu-tourism, in which visitors can involve in the process of making batik.  Apart from that, it also produces woven cloths and handicrafts. One of the BCA’s contributions in the development of Gemah Sumilir Batik Village has been to engage the village administrators with expo, conference and skill training.

For your information, through the Bakti BCA program, BCA has developed 12 assisted villages spread across Indonesia, namely Wirawisata Goa Pindul; Pentingsari Tourism Village; Wukirsari Wayang Village; Gemah Sumilir Batik Village; Doesoen Kopi Sirap; Tamansari Tourism Village; Pucak Tinggan Tourism Village; Gunong Lumut Village; Bukit Peramun Village; Aik Rusa Berehun Tourism Village; Traditional Settlement of Sijunjung; and Nagari Silokek.
