Jakarta, 1 April 2020 - As one the largest banks in Indonesia, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has a vision to contribute to the growth of startup ecosystem in Indonesia. The SYNRGY Accelerator is a manifestation of BCA’s contribution in responding to the vast emergence of different types of startups. Partnered with GK - Plug and Play, SYNRGY Accelerator completed the second batch with ten select startups namely Ai Sensum, Assemblr, Cubeacon, Delman IO, DyCodeX, KYCK!, Octagon Studio, Qomodo, Shinta VR, and Verihubs.
Responding to the ongoing health issues, which affected Indonesia and the world, this time the SYNRGY Accelerator Batch 2 and GK – Plug and Play initiated a virtual Demo Day. “It is a good decision that we’re holding a virtual Demo Day, which was initiated by BCA and as a form of our support for the government’s physical distancing recommendation and also to help protect ourselves from the virus so that we can hinder the spread. Although not being able to perform it face-to-face, we remain enthused and zealous over the program, as seen in the progress shown by all startups during the program,” said Aaron Nio, Director GK - Plug and Play Indonesia.
Due to the global pandemic, a temporary restriction is in force that may prevent some outdoor activity, and people must learn to accept the reality and adjust. We also have adjusted the arrangement of the SYNRGY Accelerator program. "All offline events that require direct meeting are diverted into non-physical meetings (online), including the Virtual Demo Day, the peak event of the SYNRGY Accelerator Batch 2 program in 2020,” said Jayaprawirya Diah, EVP of Digital Innovation Solutions of BCA.
During the SYNRGY Accelerator Batch 2, all startups are given a briefing through a one-on-one mentoring session, sharing session with expertise from various fields, workshops, and corporate visit to Halo BCA to perform benchmarking on BCA’s customer services. Furthermore, these startups have also been linked to BCA Group business units through private meeting sessions and discussions. During these sessions, an exploration was conducted to assess the possibility of partnership with BCA.
“Through Virtual Demo Day, we open access to BCA Group management, investors and invitees to watch the ten startups giving their pitch to understand their vision and mission, products and solutions in order to open up business opportunities whether it’s a partnership, investment or any other form of partnership. Stay optimistic, productive and continue moving forward, driving the economy of our nation,” concluded Jayaprawirya Diah.
