Jakarta, 23 April 2025 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (IDX: BBCA) and its subsidiaries reported total loans of Rp941 trillion as of March 2025, a 12.6% annual increase. Loan growth was driven by financing expansion in various sectors, accompanied by sustainable funding growth. Current Account Saving Account (CASA) funds rose 8.3% YoY to Rp979 trillion, accounting for 82% of total third party funds (DPK).
“The Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr momentum this year positively impacted BCA's loan disbursement until March 2025. BCA Expoversary 2025 also supported loan growth. Due to high public enthusiasm, we have extended the event until April 30, 2025. BCA is committed to supporting the national economy by encouraging prudent lending across various sectors and segments. We are optimistic about business growth going forward, amidst market dynamics and challenges,” said President Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, Jahja Setiaatmadja.
BCA's credit growth was primarily driven by corporate loans, which increased by 13.9% YoY to Rp443.4 trillion. Commercial loans expanded by 9.9% YoY, reaching Rp137.4 trillion. SME loans grew by 12.9% to Rp124.5 trillion. Consumer loans rose 11.3% YoY, amounting to Rp225.7 trillion, supported by BCA's mortgage loans (KPR) which increased by 10.5% YoY to Rp135.3 trillion. Motor vehicle loans (KKB) grew by 12.3% YoY to Rp67.1 trillion, and other outstanding consumer loans, mostly credit cards, saw a 13.9% YoY increase to Rp23.3 trillion.
Loans to sustainable sectors increased by 19% YoY to Rp235 trillion, reflecting BCA's commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles. This accounted for 25% of the total financing portfolio. BCA offers special interest rate promotions for SME debtors engaged in environmentally sound business activities and in the education sector.
BCA's third-party funds increased 6.5% YoY to Rp1,193 trillion. CASA funds were the main contributor to BCA's funding, supported by higher transaction volumes. Overall transaction frequency rose 19% YoY to 9.9 billion. Mobile and internet banking transactions grew 22.2% YoY to 8.8 billion.
The myBCA application continues to be optimized to enhance convenience and ease of transactions for customers. Among the new features is BagiBagi, which allows customers to share money up to a total of Rp50 million per day with a maximum of 99 recipients. Android users with NFC capabilities can utilize the QRIS TAP feature in myBCA by upgrading their app to at least version 2.2.0. Additionally, there is an Investment Goals feature, facilitating easier planning of various investment goals for customers. Outgoing remittance transfers with funds sourced from Multicurrency Wallet “Poket Valas” are now available on myBCA. Moreover, for Indonesian citizens residing abroad, BCA offers an online account opening feature in myBCA using an overseas mobile number.
“In the first quarter of 2025, BCA officially partnered with BAZNAS and Lazismu under PP Muhammadiyah to offer convenient zakat, infaq, and sadaqah services via the myBCA application. This partnership is a concrete demonstration of BCA's commitment to facilitate customers in making zakat, infaq and sadaqah (ZIS) payments through secure, convenient, and easy digital solutions. We are dedicated to continuously enhancing various features in myBCA,” stated Jahja Setiaatmadja.
In terms of revenue, BCA's net interest income (NII) increased by 7.1% YoY to Rp21.1 trillion. Non-interest income rose 8.1% YoY to Rp6.8 trillion, resulting in a total operating income of Rp27.9 trillion, up 7.4% YoY. Cost-to-income ratio was well-managed at 28.5%. Loan at risk (LAR) and NPL ratios were at manageable levels of 6% and 2%, respectively, with ample provisioning ratios at 180.5% for NPL and 66.5% for LAR. BCA and its subsidiaries’ profits grew 9.8%, reaching Rp14.1 trillion in Q1 2025.
BCA received several prestigious awards in the first quarter of 2025. Brand Finance recognized BCA as the World's Strongest Banking Brand 2025 for the second consecutive year. The Asian Banker awarded BCA the title of The Best Retail Bank in Indonesia. Euromoney also acknowledged BCA with Indonesia's Best Private Bank & Indonesia's Best for Next Gen awards. Additionally, BCA earned the Gallup Global Customer Engagement Award for the fourth consecutive year.
BCA, through Bakti BCA, has once again provided scholarships and year-long development programs to 700 students from 20 universities. In the cultural sector, BCA supported six tourism villages in winning the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2025. Bakti BCA also promoted travel packages from these villages at ITB Berlin, one of the world’s largest travel fairs. Additionally, Bakti BCA has facilitated the issuance of around 2,000 halal certificates for MSME players. In the health sector, Bakti BCA organized free health checks and cataract surgeries, as well as blood donation drives in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). This year, Bakti BCA introduced the Genera-Z Berbakti program, which engages students nationwide to apply their academic skills directly within BCA’s tourism villages. Selected groups will receive funding and support from Bakti BCA to implement their projects over approximately one month.
