BCA Berbagi Ilmu in Malang: BCA Director and Nicholas Saputra Encourage UB Students to Prepare for Their Career Journey

Malang, 18 March 2025 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) remains committed to contributing to the advancement of Indonesia’s education sector, one of which is through the “BCA Berbagi Ilmu” program at Brawijaya University (UB), Malang. This program, presented in the form of a public lecture, is one of Bakti BCA’s flagship initiatives under the Bakti Pendidikan (education) pillar, aimed at supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Quality Education.

More than 554 students and members of Brawijaya University’s (UB) academic community attended the public lecture at the Samantha Krida Hall, UB, on Monday (17/3). In this first BCA Berbagi Ilmu session of 2025, UB students had the opportunity to gain insights from BCA Director Haryanto T. Budiman and Bakti BCA Brand Ambassador Nicholas Saputra. The event was also attended by UB Rector Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. Med. Sc., Head of BCA Region VII Office Lindawati Susanto, and BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn.

BCA Director Haryanto T. Budiman opened the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program series by stating, “BCA recognizes that education is the key to developing high-quality human resources. In the third year of the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program, we continue our commitment to supporting universities in preparing a competent young generation. We ensure that this program equips them with the necessary insights and skills so they are ready to contribute to the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.”

Carrying the theme ‘How to Navigate Real-World Challenges and be an Impactful Leader in a World Full of Disruptions’, UB students are being prepared to navigate post-campus life by developing leadership skills that are adaptive to technological and industrial advancements. This theme was chosen because it aligns with the challenges students often face as they transition into the professional world.

“After completing their studies, students will enter a world vastly different from the dynamics of campus life. Changes are occurring at an increasingly rapid pace, from technological advancements and rising industry competency demands to the growing complexity of global dynamics, making competition even more intense. In this environment, students must have the courage to embrace change by embodying the traits of an impactful leader. It is important for students to uphold integrity, authenticity, and resilience as some of the key foundations for a successful post-campus life,” explained Haryanto.

At the same event, Bakti BCA Brand Ambassador Nicholas Saputra shared his experience in adapting to constant change. “The only certainty in life is change. To navigate it, we must stay relevant by continuously expanding our knowledge and developing our skills. Amid rapid technological advancements and an overwhelming flow of information, students must embrace independent thinking and decision-making to contribute meaningfully to society. By deepening their understanding of what they have learned, they can bring unique perspectives as they step into the professional world,” said Nicholas.

In 2024, the BCA Berbagi Ilmu public lecture series was held at 10 universities across Indonesia, with more than 6,900 students participating. In addition to the public lectures, the program also featured the Student Banking Tour, which invited hundreds of high school students to visit BCA branch offices across the country. Through this initiative, students gained firsthand experience of the banking and financial industry.

“Through the Bakti BCA initiative, BCA remains committed to creating positive impacts for the nation, starting at the individual, community, and ecosystem levels. The BCA Berbagi Ilmu program is driven by the belief that empowering the younger generation will encourage them to take an active role in creating positive change for Indonesia’s development. We hope that this public lecture will inspire students to become outstanding and competitive individuals,” added BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn.

Encouraging Students to Join Genera-Z Berbakti

As an effort to increase youth participation in creating positive change, Bakti BCA is organizing a competition titled "Genera-Z Berbakti," which is open to active university students across Indonesia. In this competition, participants will submit proposals outlining community service programs aimed at creating a positive impact, particularly in rural areas. Selected teams will have the opportunity to receive funding and mentorship from Bakti BCA.

Even more exciting, the best team will have the opportunity to receive awards with a total value of hundreds of millions of rupiah, along with certificates and even scientific publication support from BCA. Students can register for this competition from 15 March to 30 April 2025. For more information, visit bca.id/generazberbakti.
