Solid Credit Growth across Segments, BCA Net Profit Grew 12.8%

Jakarta, 23 October 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (IDX: BBCA) and its subsidiaries recorded loan growth of 14.5% YoY to Rp877 trillion in September 2024. BCA and its subsidiaries booked net profit of Rp41.1 trillion, up 12.8% YoY in the first 9 months of 2024, underpinned by higher loan disbursement, rising transaction volume and funding base.

“Rising loan portfolio, year to date, reflects BCA’s commitment in supporting the country’s economic growth. We saw good demand on consumer loans as reflected in the result of ‘BCA Expoversary 2024’ and ‘BCA Expo 2024’ which garnered more than Rp78 trillion application in total mortgages and vehicle loans. For local micro SME entrepreneurs, we held ‘BCA UMKM Fest 2024’, attracting more than 1,700 tenants and offering various locally made products such as foods, beverages, fashion, and various necessities. The event is part of ‘BCA Bangga Lokal’, a micro SME community empowerment program under the flagship of ‘Bakti BCA’. In another event, ‘BCA Wealth Summit 2024’ recorded more than 2 million visitors, both online and offline,” said President Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, Jahja Setiaatmadja.

Loan disbursement was supported by corporate loans which booked the highest growth, up 15.9% YoY reaching Rp395.9 trillion. Commercial loans rose 11.8% YoY to Rp135.3 trillion and SME loans grew 14.2% YoY to Rp120.1 trillion. The total consumer loan portfolio rose 13.1% YoY to Rp216.5 trillion, driven by mortgages and vehicle loans which grew 10.7% and 17.9 YoY respectively to Rp130.4 trillion and Rp64.1 trillion. The growth in other consumer loans (majority in credit card loans) reached 15.0% YoY, reaching Rp21.9 trillion.

Sustainable finance portfolio grew 10.7% YoY to Rp214 trillion as of September 2024, contributing to 24.3% to total loans. BCA is committed to continuously promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values. Wisma BCA Foresta branch was recently certified with ‘Green Mark Super Low Energy Building’ from the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore, the first of its kind in Indonesia. The award was a testimony of very high efficiency of a building operation.

Solid loan growth was accompanied by sound asset quality. Loan at risk (LAR) ratio reached 6.1% as of September 2024, an improvement from last year's position at 7.9%, while non-performing loans (NPL) ratio was manageable at 2.1%. NPL and LAR provisions are at adequate levels, at 193.9% and 73.5% respectively.

On the funding side, third-party funds grew by 3.4% YoY reaching Rp1,125 trillion. Current and savings accounts (CASA) contributed more than 82% to the total third-party funds and grew 5.2% YoY to Rp915 trillion. The solid CASA growth was in line with the performance in transaction frequency, which grew 21% YoY to reach 26 billion in the first nine months of 2024.

Mobile banking and internet banking transaction frequency reached 23 billion, grew 24% YoY. The number of customers using BCA Mobile reached more than 31 million, while myBCA users grew 8 times in the last 2 years to more than 6 million.

“myBCA continues to be upgraded through the addition of various features and establishing new collaborations to serve evolving customer needs. One of myBCA's new features is 'Protection', allowing customers to purchase insurance at ease. myBCA adds telecommunication service partners for e-SIM purchase, while in the area of investment, ‘Welma’ now provides access for customers to self-update their investment risk profile,” said Jahja Setiaatmadja.

Another innovation from BCA is the new ‘Multi Settlement’ feature for QRIS transactions, allowing merchants to withdraw their funds up to 4 times a day. The feature serves individual merchants under Micro Business category. BCA also conducted the first drawing of ‘Gebyar Hadiah BCA’ prize program, held publicly on September 23, 2024. The second phase of ‘Gebyar Hadiah BCA’ point collection started from October 1, 2024 and will end on January 31, 2025.

On net interest income (NII), BCA recorded a 9.5% YoY growth, reaching Rp61.1 trillion in the first nine months of the year. Non-interest income rose 13.5% YoY to Rp19.0 trillion, supported by a 7.0% YoY increase in fee and commission income. Total operating income reached Rp80.1 trillion, up 10.4% YoY.

To commemorate the 79th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence Day, Bakti BCA held an event called “Gebyar BCA Merah Putih: Indonesia Banget!” attended by dozens of MSME partners at local markets, and hosted a musical cultural performance involving students from Bakti BCA schools and studios, attended by more than 10,000 visitors at the Prambanan Temple. Bakti BCA inaugurated 4 new schools under BCA assistance program, including reaching out to eastern Indonesia area such as SDN 35 Sorong City, SDI Nunumeu Soe City, and SMAN 3 Penajam Paser Utara. Bakti BCA also supported the construction of the largest turtle egg incubation room without sands in Banyuwangi, which can accommodate 15,000 eggs. Bakti BCA again held workshops for Indonesian “MSMEs Go Export 2024” in several cities. The program, which has been implemented since 2023, has successfully assisted 2 MSMEs to make their first exports. In collaboration with the government, experts, and practitioners, Bakti BCA provided free halal certificates, targeting 2,000 MSMEs. Last but not least, Bakti BCA has completed assistantship program for natural color fabric weavers in East Sumba, the third area after South Central Timor and Baduy. The program includes assistance for the community to expand their market.
