Jakarta, 3 February 2024 - An unofficial announcement was recently made on behalf of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) regarding a change in the interbank transfer rate to Rp150,000 per month. This announcement was widely circulated in chat applications, prompting customers to press the “view” button, directing them to a fake website requesting customers’ data.
In this scenario, BCA firmly states that the announcement is FALSE and constitutes an ACT OF FRAUD. If customers receive such an announcement, BCA recommends taking the following steps:
- Please ignore the message, especially if contacted using private numbers. The Bank will only provide announcements/information from the official number/account, specifically WhatsApp Bank BCA at 08111500998.
- Avoid clicking the "view" button and filling out any data. Do not open or click the "view" button. If you have already clicked it, refrain from completing the web form within. Immediately exit the website or microsite that opens from the page.
- Block the contact number and delete messages.
- Manage your mobile banking passwords. Create a strong password and remember to change it regularly.
- Report any issues to Halo BCA by calling 1500888 or through the haloBCA application

We consistently advocate public awareness and caution against different banking social engineering schemes. If you receive any suspicious communication claiming to be from BCA, please contact your local branch or contact us through the Halo BCA contact center at 1500888 or the haloBCA application. Remember, never disclose confidential banking information like ATM card numbers, PINs, or OTPs.”
