Jakarta, 27 August 2023 - To commemorate the Republic of Indonesia’s 78th Independence Day, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) hosted a fun activity dubbed Gebyar Merah Putih on Sunday. The event was attended by more than 1,000 participants and, including the Board of Directors and Commissioners of BCA, BCA employees and the general public who attended the car free day activity in Jakarta (27/8).
Initiated by Bakti BCA, Gebyar Merah Putih was aimed to foster a sense of patriotism while also promoting a healthy lifestyle to both BCA employees and the community. Moreover, the event also sought to raise environmental awareness through a collaboration with Plasticpay, a digital platform for plastic waste collection that recycles the plastic waste into eco-friendly fiber.
Among the BCA Board of Commissioners and Directors attending the event were BCA Independent Commissioner Raden Pardede, BCA Independent Commissioner Cyrillus Harinowo, BCA Vice President Director Armand W. Hartono, BCA Vice President Director Hendra Lembong, BCA Director Subur Tan, BCA Director Rudy Susanto, BCA Director Lianawaty Suwono, BCA Director John Kosasih, BCA Director Haryanto Budiman, and BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono.
BCA Vice President Director Armand W. Hartono said, "We, BCA staff members and the local community, have gathered this morning to celebrate Indonesia's 78th Independence Day through Gebyar BCA Merah Putih. We hope that this event will have a positive impact, especially in fostering the sense of nationalism among BCA staff members and the wider community. Furthermore, through this event, I invite all participants to lead a healthy lifestyle through group exercise and also show concern for the environment by participating in the sorting and recycling plastic waste movement.”
Gebyar BCA Merah Putih was held around Menara BCA area in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (27/8/2023), during the car free day activity. The event featured various activities, ranging from flashmob dance performed by the Halo BCA team, a healthy exercise session, to keroncong music performance by students of SMAN 3 Serang, a school affiliated with Bakti BCA.
Furthermore, Gebyar BCA Merah Putih also invited several guest stars, such as public figure Maria Vania, actor Dion Wiyoko, Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2023 Lulu Zaharani, and singer Marion Jola to entertain all the attendees.
Last year, BCA also hosted a similar event dubbed Gelora Indonesia (Music and Sports Movement for Indonesia) during car free day at Bundaran HI area.This marks the second year we've hosted this event. We hope Gebyar BCA Merah Putih will ignite the spirit of nationalism not only among BCA employees but also among the general public who participated in the event. Moving forward, BCA is committed to providing a positive contribution to the country in all aspects, including national pride, public health and environmental preservation,” explained Haryn, EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA.
