Bogor, June 15, 2023 - As part of BCA's commitment to enhancing the financial literacy among students, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) invited approximately 70 students from Taruna Bangsa High School to directly learn about the banking world through the "Student Banking Tour" activity at BCA Learning Institute, Bogor Regency. In addition to gaining information about the banking industry, the students also had the opportunity to explore the "BCA Gallery" museum and participate in financial literacy education.
Carrying the spirit of #GenerasiPastiBisa, this activity is part of BCA's Berbagi Ilmu program, which BCA has implemented since early May 2023. BCA Berbagi Ilmu is part of BCA's commitment through Bakti BCA to support Indonesia in pursuing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting equal education and financial literacy among the youth, particularly in preparation for the upcoming peak of the Demographic Bonus in 2030.
"With great pleasure, we warmly welcome the presence of Taruna Bangsa High School students at BCA Learning Institute to participate in the Student Banking Tour program. We also express our gratitude for the enthusiasm shown by all participating students. Through this activity, we hope to provide valuable insights to the younger generation, especially regarding financial literacy. We are committed to continuously improving understanding of finance and banking and supporting the development of students' potential to become #GenerasiPastiBisa," said Lusy Kumala Dewi, Head of BCA Bogor Branch.
In addition to observing and learning about banking activities firsthand, students also gained new knowledge about financial literacy, such as savings management, investments, and smart mindset strategies for personal finance management. Furthermore, students were taken on a banking tour to explore the "BCA Gallery" museum, mini bank, and other modern facilities at the BCA Learning Institute.
All students also received information about the Business and Banking Education Scholarship Program (PPBP) and the Information Technology Education Program (PPTI). These scholarship programs are among BCA's flagship initiatives to promote educational advancement in Indonesia, particularly in the field of banking, through collaborations with reputable universities. The PPBP and PPTI scholarship programs have a duration of 2.5 years and are held at the BCA Learning Institute.
As additional information, the "Student Banking Tour" activity has previously been conducted at several BCA branch offices throughout Indonesia. In addition to the "Student Banking Tour," the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program has organized a series of public lectures at 5 prestigious universities in Indonesia, namely Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), and Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS). Starting on National Education Day, May 2, 2023, these public lectures featured BCA's Board of Directors as speakers, covering various topics such as financial literacy, leadership, and digitalization. Moving forward, the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program will also organize an event called "I'm Capable" aimed at promoting inclusive and disability-friendly education.
