Bandung, May 25, 2023 - As part of BCA's commitment to improving financial literacy among students, BCA invited approximately 130 male and female students from SMA Kristen Bina Bakti 1, 2, 3 Bandung and SMK Negeri 1 Bandung to BCA Dago Branch for a firsthand experience of banking operations through the "Student Banking Tour" event. In addition to observing and witnessing the activities of BCA professionals, the students also received lessons on financial literacy, including an introduction to savings management, investments, and developing a smart mindset in personal finance management.
Carrying the spirit of #GenerasiPastiBisa, the "Student Banking Tour" event is part of Bakti BCA's ongoing program called "BCA Berbagi Ilmu" which started in early May 2023. BCA Berbagi Ilmu is a tangible manifestation of BCA's commitment to supporting Indonesia in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting equal access to education and financial literacy among the younger generation, especially in preparation for the upcoming demographic bonus peak in 2030.
"We are delighted to welcome the students from SMAK Bina Bakti and SMK Negeri 1 Bandung to our office for the Student Banking Tour program. I would like to express my gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of all the students. Through this activity, we hope to provide valuable insights to the younger generation about the importance of financial literacy. We are committed to continuously enhancing understanding of finance and banking and supporting the development of the student’s potential to become part of #GenerasiPastiBisa," stated Andre Soetejo, Head of BCA Dago Branch.
During this event, the participants also received information about the newly opened Business and Banking Education (PPBP) Scholarship Program and Information Technology Education (PPTI) Scholarship Program by BCA for the academic year 2024. Both scholarship programs are BCA's flagship initiatives in the field of education, specifically focusing on banking, and are conducted in collaboration with leading universities. The PPBP and PPTI scholarship programs have a duration of 2.5 years and are held at the BCA Learning Institute in Sentul.
As additional information, in 2022, it was recorded that 95% of PPBP alumni who graduated that year joined BCA. Furthermore, during the same period, 100% of PPTI alumni who graduated joined BCA.
In addition to the "Student Banking Tour," the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program has organized a series of public lectures at 5 prestigious universities in Indonesia, namely Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, and Universitas Hasanuddin. Starting on National Education Day which falls on May 2, 2023, these lectures featured BCA Directors as speakers who covered various topics ranging from financial literacy, leadership, to digitalization. Moving forward, the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program will also hold an event called "I'm Capable," aimed at promoting inclusive and disability-friendly education.
