Supporting Health Protocols in the Face-to-Face Learning, BCA Embraces BCA’s Assisted Schools

Jakarta, October 29, 2021 – Along with the decreasing curve of the Covid-19 virus transmission, government has established set of policies. One of the policies is face-to-face learning trials in several regions of Indonesia. This news is welcomed by some parties, especially students and teachers who miss to return to school. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), overseeing some schools through BCA Assisted School program, also welcomes face-to-face teaching and learning activities.

In order to support this policy, BCA through its Corporate Social Responsibility program also upholds the implementation of strict health protocols in teaching and learning activities. BCA has taken concrete actions by donating equipment useful for teaching and learning activities. This donation was handed over directly to 20 BCA assisted schools in 4 regions represented by BCA Branches in each region. This donation is handed from October 22 to November 3, 2021.

“BCA also welcomes students and teaching staff enthusiasm returning to face-to-face learning. Of course, in its implementation it is necessary to apply strict health protocols for mutual good. For that reason, BCA also supports the learning program by donating equipment useful for the implementation of learning. The donations are in the form of cloth masks, thermoguns, face shields and computers," said Inge Setiawati, EVP CSR of BCA.

This BCA’s CSR donation program was handed over to 20 assisted schools spread across Lampung, Serang, Gunungkidul and Banyuwangi. On this occasion, the donation includes 23,000 masks and 1,000 face shields for students and staffs, as well as 100 thermoguns for each school. Furthermore, for assisted schools in Banyuwangi, BCA hands over 30 computers used by teachers and students to support learning activities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, BCA has never stopped supporting teaching and learning activities for students under BCA assisted schools. BCA's coaching programs in these schools include the teacher training activity "Becoming an Effective Blended Learning Teacher in the Distance Learning Era" that aims to improve teacher skills in distance learning, as well as the "SMART Teacher Development Program" training which aims to improve teacher soft skills so that this limited face-to-face learning can be implemented well.

“We both hope that face-to-face teaching and learning activities implement smoothly and will not cause new clusters of virus transmission in the school environment. We hope that this donation is used optimally and provides security and smooth learning process. Hopefully the students can return to be more enthusiastic in scoring brilliant achievements," Inge concluded.
