Jakarta, 28 April 2021 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is committed to providing value added for the Indonesian public through various sectors, including tourism. BCA currently has 12 Bakti BCA assisted tourism villages. In an effort to develop tourism villages, BCA is currently holding the Desa Wisata Awards 2021 in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism. And to enliven the event, BCA vigorously educates the village administrators.
These educational programs were carried out through several webinar sessions, and this time the theme is Building Sustainable Tourism Villages, attended by EVP CSR of BCA Inge Setiawati, Head of the Master Program in Sustainable Tourism of Padjajaran University Dr. Evi Novianti, M.Si and Januarani Razak as Moderator on Wednesday (28/04). Furthermore, the webinar was also attended by 12 BCA tourism village administrators and administrators from other tourism villages.
“We consistently continue to build tourism villages through education for village administrators to evoke motivation and encourage the administrators to promote their villages. The development and assistance provided by BCA, adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals(SDG’s) aspects. We understand that the company is not only profit-oriented but also embrace other factors such as people, environment, governance and planet,” said Inge.
Tourism villages play an increasingly significant role in the process of tourism development process Indonesia. BCA, through its Bakti Komunitas and Excellence Business Solution pillar, supports the continuity of sustainable tourism in Indonesia. BCA continues to give assistance and various training programs to the 12 assisted villages including digital branding training, tour guide training, homestay standardization training, benchmarking, and development of tour packages. During the pandemic, all trainings are conducted online and wholly welcomed by the tourism village administrators.
Dr. Evi Novianti also supports the initiation of tourism village training organized by BCA. She mentioned that consent and support of the parties is essential in tourism village development and must be well established.
For additional information, BCA is currently holding the Desa Wisata Awards 2021 which will take place until June 2021. BCA has also prepared a total prize of Rp600 million and mentoring program for the winners. All tourism villages in Indonesia are eligible to participate in the competition.
“We hope that these routine mentoring sessions can encourage tourism village administrators to create initiatives to welcome the recovery of tourism industry in Indonesia. We also call for other tourism villages who have not registered for the Desa Wisata Award 2021 competition, there is still time to do so,” Inge concluded.
