Tarakan, 14 May 2020 – In the midst of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is committed to be part of the Indonesian community in order to support various efforts to handle the pandemic. BCA demonstrated its commitment through an aid distribution for various parties, ranging from medical personnel to affected communities. This time, BCA, through the Bakti BCA, provided personal protective equipment for frontline responders of the Covid-19 in Tarakan.
These personal protective equipments include N95 masks, surgical masks, coverall, surgical gowns, and gloves, directly submitted by the Head of BCA KCU Tarakan Jedida to Head of General Affairs & Equipment Subdivision of RSUD Tarakan Herry Afandi in Tarakan, Monday (11/05).
“The aid package we deliver today is a form of BCA’s determination to help Indonesia recover and rise from the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides Tarakan, we also provided similar assistance to medical teams in a number of regions in Indonesia. We believe that the unified small steps that are carried out consistently can have a major impact on efforts to address and reduce the growth rate of Covid-19 in Indonesia,” said Jedida.
Since last March, BCA continues to gradually distribute aid to various parties in effort to assist the handling of Covid-19 in Indonesia. A number of ventilators and other medical equipments had been donated to several hospitals including RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, RSUPN Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo, RS Eka Hospital BSD and RS St. Carolus Jakarta. Previously, BCA had also made a donation through crowd funding BenihBaik.com. As of now, BCA has donated almost Rp13 billion for Covid-19 mitigation measures in Indonesia.
“Surely, BCA will continue its efforts in helping the government, medical workers, and the people of Indonesia in tackling Covid-19. We hope that the aid we provide can contribute to the efforts of our healthcare workers in handling Covid-19 in Tarakan. Let’s pray that Indonesia will soon be free of Covid-19 and that everything will return to normal. Don’t forget to maintain cleanliness at all times and implement government order that includes social & physical distancing, work from home, etc. to break the chain of Covid-19 spread in Indonesia,” Jedida concluded.
