myBCA x JDF Returns with “myBCA Mentorship Project”

Jakarta Doodle Fest (JDF), a visual arts celebration event hosted by TFR News media will return in 2024 with a new theme: “Art to Cart”. This year JDF main event will be held on 1-3 November 2024 at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta. Starting its second year, BCA again collaborates with JDF by presenting a mentorship program for students to increase enthusiasm in their work.

Aligns with JDF theme “Add to Cart”, this activity aims to highlight the importance of the artists to not only creating their works, but also gain economic benefits from them. Therefore, myBCA is also presented through its various features to support them with #NyamannyaDuniamyBCA.


What is myBCA Mentorship Project?

BCA together with Jakarta Doodle Fest (JDF) 2024 provides an opportunity for art/design students in Jabodetabek to participate in a mentorship program to supports students' careers as visual creators. In this program, students can develop technical skills in the world of branding and merchandising.


Who is involved in the myBCA Mentorship Project?

This mentorship program is available for art/design students from Bina Nusantara University (BINUS) Alam Sutera and Pradita University. The students will be guided and mentored afterwards by practitioners who are experienced in their fields and appointed by ADGI (Indonesian Graphic Designers Association).


When will the myBCA Mentorship Project be held?

The registration process will begin in the 4th week of September 2024. The event "myBCA Mentorship Project" will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at BINUS Alam Sutera and Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Pradita University. Both events will share the same theme "Mastering the Art of Branding & Merchandising." At last, the work of students that are guided by the mentors will be displayed at the main event of the Jakarta Doodle Fest (JDF), which will be held on 1 - 3 November 2024 at Taman Ismail Marzuki.


What is the purpose of the myBCA Mentorship Project?

The main purpose of this mentorship program is to provide knowledge for students to create corporate merchandise and the opportunity to gain real-life experience by designing BCA Official Youngster Corporate Merchandise for one selected team. The aim of JDF and BCA collaboration to provide new knowledge and experience for involved students, especially to prepare real-life working experience after college.


How is the myBCA Mentorship Project implemented?

In the nutshell, this program is divided into two parts, offline workshops with mentors which are open to 150 students per campus, and portfolio submissions which to select 9 candidates per class and take part in more intensive advanced workshops of merchandise production.

Thus, 9 candidates from each selected campus will be formed into 3 teams, in total this program will accommodate 6 teams from representatives of 2 campuses. Each team will collaborate to produce work and submit their designs to be assessed and evaluated by JDF, BCA, and mentors. Finally, the best team will be selected and the work will be produced into merchandise and also the design will be exhibited at the BCA booth in the main event of Jakarta Doodle Fest. Besides, the winning team will also receive a cash prize of IDR 8,000,000.
